Making the BBFC Certificate
The British board of film classification (BBFC) is a non-governmental organisation, founded by the film industry in 1912 and is responsible for the national classification and censorship of films exhibited at cinemas and other video productions.
We decided to certify our film at an age restriction of 15. Many scenes convey a distorted teenage girl struggling to cope with her mental health and her the family dynamics. Younger viewers may be distraught as the BBFC has classified that a 15 rating would involve violent behaviour that could be copied by more impressionable children. This is shown through the character of Elsie by her having an innate violent nature.
When creating the BBFC certificate, we used a 15 rating template we found online. Using Photoshop we copied a black box and pasted it onto the original name for this certificate. Then we changed to font of the text to be much larger and become bold. we also changed what was on the film certificate, such as changing the nudity aspect to become strong language and disturbing scenes.
You show that you have researched the BBFC guidelines and that you have carefully considered how to rate your film.
